We have to start with why. Before how, why do we combat sin as a community?
The Wisdom of God - our belief about who God is.
The Work - our identity in Christ
The World - what about those around us?
Jesus came as a servant king, and as His followers we are also called not to be kings, but servants. Here are three questions to consider as we start living like this:
Who are we trying to please?
What have we been given?
Why do we think wrongly about who we are?
The foundation determines the scope of what can be built upon it and what it can withstand. We see some implications from the Gospel call to be founded on the person and work of Jesus Christ.
We have one foundation (Christ).
We are one building on this foundation, not separate.
We are one family.
As we pursue spiritual maturity, we have a need for mature food. Consuming mature food leads naturally to mature action. This level of mature action can only be sustained by mature dependence.
What does it look like to actually live life out through the lens of the Gospel?
